Content Insider #247 - Flashy Storage
SSD ... More Stuff than You Can Afford to Carry
Next to backup and archiving about the toughest thing to get people excited about is storage. Oh sure you know you have to have it but storage is just well...storage. But a new smartphone, new tablet, new notebook that is so special, so cool (with friends and business associates). It's sad because without storage all that brilliant content you create, share, show, view would be passing ones, zeros. When you shut down your device...gone! Sure there's new excitement now because of the super sweet SSDs (solid state devices). Finally storage that gives you fast response, performance. Storage that helps your device last a little longer between wall outlets. It's so great it is out to bury hard drives, tape, optical.
Corel VideoStudio Pro X5
In terms of bang for your buck Corel VideoStudio Pro X5 is hard to beat!
While it is still fair to say that Corel has struggled in the video editing market, I suspect the latest carnation of VideoStudio Pro X5 will change all that. And oddly enough, I say this not because of any improvement over its standard video editing approach as this retains the 3 step approach that many programs of this type use - Capture, Edit, Share. No, not at all. This version has some truly ground breaking features.

Broadcasting To The Masses At La Porte Ouverte Chretienne
Each mass is attended by more than 2,000 people, and "virtually" by thousands more, as services are also streamed live to the church's website. For an even wider reach, church services are published on DVD within a week. Jéry Vannieu (Vanniewenhuyse) is the technical director at La Porte Ouverte Chrétienne. With a background in audiovisual technology, Mr. Vannieu has worked in audiovisual production as a freelance technical event director for concerts, youth gatherings and festivals for more than 10 years. Already a member of La Porte Ouverte Chrétienne, he was delighted to be invited to collaborate on audiovisual projects involving multiple media, including TV and streaming live to the Internet.
